Ubangi Dish
95. A rare wooden dish from the Ubangi river area. There are several related examples in the collections of the British Museum. These were all collected by Lord Mountmorres and Marcus Dorman during an expedition he made in 1904. The style and patina of those collected by him would strongly suggest that this example is from the same group. Mountmorres sold his collection to the BM in 1911 for £100 but whereabouts of Marcus Dormans collection is unknown.
